Approach

Physiotherapist with a holistic health approach

I offer gentle, personalised work to support mobility, balance, and connection with your body.
My approach integrates decades of experience in rehabilitation with mindfulness, breath awareness, and hands-on therapeutic work.  Ultimately, I want to help you to be able to help yourself.

I originally trained and practised as a physiotherapist for over 30 years, working with a wide range of physical conditions. Over time, my work has evolved to include a more holistic and mindful approach to the body, drawing on craniosacral therapy, movement awareness, and trauma-informed practice.

What I help with:

  • improving mobility and confidence in movement
  • supporting recovery after illness, injury, or falls
  • balance and falls prevention (including Otago)
  • breath and body awareness
  • nervous system regulation / trauma-aware support.

We may  look at posture, lifestyle, sleep, as well as levels of stress and exercise. We can, if you wish, look at blood sugar balance and discuss dietary adjustments to optimise your healing capacity and age appropriate nutritional requirements.

               What we do:

  • Cranio-sacral Therapy
  • Manual therapy
  • Low Intensity Laser Therapy/ Photobiomodulation
  • Myofascial release and Trigger point release

    • Sports Injuries
    • Whiplash disorders
    • Headaches and migraines
    • Soft tissue Sprain/Strain(Tendon, Ligament)
    • Work related postural problems
    • Joint, Muscle and Nerve related symptoms

I have particular expertise in headaches, migraines and whiplash injuries.

Sometimes there is a strong emotional component to the physical manifestation of a problem, due to stress or trauma. I believe this needs to be factored into your treatment. We then can combine manual therapy with Cranio-Sacral Therapy, visualisation , breathing or emotional release techniques.

We also want to help you age gracefully. I am a trained Otago Exercise Practitioner (OEP) , which is an evidence based strength and balance retraining program designed for elderly clients. This might be for you if you had a fall or begin to feel unsteady.
